‘Where in the world’ is a series of videos made for the English as a Second Language classroom.
The purpose of these videos is to show students of other languages/countries the different styles of speech, mannerisms, tones and gestures of Native English Speakers.
From expereince, students think that English has only one face and style.
All the videos here are unique from each other.
How to use the videos
Start your lesson with the video as a warm up. The students will meet a new person and learn about them. The video describes the persons likes, dislikes and interests.
Create a question sheet to hand out after the video is complete. Do the students remember what the video told them?
It will feel like the students have met a new foreign teacher each time you show a new video.
